M. Personal Electronic Devices
We recognize that there are applications of electronic devices that can embrace learning in the classroom. However, unauthorized use of such devices disrupts the instructional program and distracts from the learning environment. Therefore, unauthorized use is grounds for confiscation of the device by school officials, including classroom teachers, custodians, and supervisory aides.
Students may use electronic devices on campus before school begins (8:00 AM), and after school ends (3:20 PM).
At no time will any student have a cell phone, iPod, or other electronic device with video capabilities in a locker room, bathroom, or other location where such operation may violate the privacy right of another person. Students will receive an initial out-of-school suspension period up to ten (10) days.
