School Nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students.  Services are provided to schools that include direct health care including screenings, assessment, treatment and referrals.  Health Education and promotion of healthy lifestyle including a safe school environment are also promoted.  Research has shown that school districts with adequate nursing coverage have fewer absences, a decreased dropout rate, and higher test scores.  Every Child Deserves a School Nurse!
